One of the greatest all-around players in Major League Baseball history was recognized for his achievements once again with a sculpture bearing his likeness

Frozen in his iconic batting stance, right arm extended toward the pitcher, left arm folded across his chest, Ichiro now has a permanent home on the Seattle baseball scene.
The Mariners’ legendary right fielder was on hand as the team unveiled his bronze statue on a sidewalk outside of T-Mobile Park during a ceremony on Friday morning.
The unveiling didn’t go completely flawlessly, as the bat appeared broken.
On the corner of Edgar Martinez Drive and Dave Niehaus Way, the Ichiro statue rests directly east of the statues of fellow National Baseball Hall of Famers Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez.
