Greatness is allegedly the aim of a lot of people.
While most may not necessarily vocalize their intention to achieve at a high level, they make this declaration through their complaints and stated wish lists.
This can also become apparent through the envious complaints regarding those who have more material goods and have gained higher levels, at least upon public appearance, in their lives.
An element that is typically missing, though, is the work that is required to even come close to truly achieving anything noteworthy.
This is what Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards discussed in regard to his offseason preparation for the upcoming season, as shared by Greg Berge on X.
Edwards stated, “Greatness is boring. It’s doing the same things over and over again.”
Ultimately, it is in this area where so many fall short before even truly being able to come close to producing anything meaningful. People get bored, a new shiny interest takes over, and the lack of discipline ends up leading to someone being stuck in the same place and in a continuous cycle, that being always wanting.
High achievers, though, find ways to stay motivated. Or, perhaps more accurately, high achievers find ways to work through the laborious and tedious nature of the various tasks that many people believe to be too uninteresting and, as a result, choose to ignore.
Edwards is still a young player who has seen his fair share of individual success and team success. The ultimate team objective is still something that alludes him and the Timberwolves.
It would, however, be incredibly difficult for anyone to claim that his game is anything short of impressive. He clearly knows what to do and is saying the right things.
If he is going to take that next step in the postseason, he will need to be able to find another gear. So far, it looks as if he is well on his way toward doing so.
