The Washington Nationals drafted teenage phenom Bryce Harper, and he blossomed into one of the best players of his generation

On June 7, 2010, the Washington Nationals drafted Nevada prep superstar Bryce Harper, one of the most highly-touted prospects of all time. The move paid off, as the outfielder quickly blossomed into one of the best players of his generation.
Harper would go on to win multiple MVP awards and become a franchise cornerstone. The five-tool player excelled at the plate and in the field, and became a favorite in the clubhouse for his fiery play. He won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2012 and became the club’s first bona fide megastar since they departed Montreal and started anew in the nation’s capital.
Harper would eventually sign with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2019, where he has played since. He is a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame and will be remembered as an icon for two different MLB franchises when it’s all said and done.
