On August 7th, 2007, San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds hit his 756th career home run to break Hank Aaron’s long-standing MLB record
Bonds already held the single-season home run crown with 73, and this appeared to be the final feather in the cap for the outfielder, as he never won a World Series with either the Giants or his original team, the Pittsburgh Pirates.
As all baseball fans know, this would ordinarily mean an immediate entrance into the Hall of Fame. But Bonds has yet to get the call from Cooperstown, due to his alleged involvement in MLB’s steroid scandal.
