The man who would go on to break records and create controversy makes his Big League debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates

On May 30th, 1986, Barry Bonds made his MLB debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He went 0-for-5 with a walk in a 6–4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Four days later, he would hit the first of his Major League record 762 home runs.
Bonds would leave Pittsburgh and join the Giants upon becoming a free agent. While playing in San Francisco, he would set the single-season record for home runs, with 73 in 2001. He is considered one of the game’s greatest hitters and all-around players ever.
Despite his amazing accomplishments and relevant records, Bonds has not been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame due to his association with performance-enhancing drugs. He was not elected by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America during his 10 years on the ballot
