FORBES: 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Has Just Become A Billion-Dollar Gamechanger

FIFA’s 2025 Club World Cup had been derided by some as a bunch of pre-season friendlies where clubs won’t even play their best players, but in one statement, FIFA blew those criticisms out of the water.

At the FIFA Council meeting on Wednesday, FIFA announced the prize fund for the 2025 Club World Cup would be $1 billion.

That makes it soccer’s most lucrative 32-team tournament, dwarfing the $440 million prize fund for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. FIFA hasn’t announced how this money will be distributed among the competing teams, and it is still in negotiations with groups like the European Club Association about the exact amounts, but should the prize money formula be the same as in Qatar, the winners of the Club World Cup could expect something in the region of $95 million… Read More HERE
